Machin Collectors Club
Welcome To The Machin Collectors Club
We are offering a free service to keep you up to date on any effects the Coronavirus pandemic is having on the clubs activities. If you wish to receive this service please sign up here.
The idea of the Machin Collectors Club was born in the mind of its administrator, Melvyn Philpott in 1971 when he became interested in Machin cylinder blocks. However it was not actually launched until July 1995 from where it has since attracted over 2000 members worldwide.
The initial idea was to provide as fast a service as possible to Machin collectors, to give them the latest information in the rapidly changing Machin field at the time. This could be the latest plate numbers in booklets, dates on Warrant blocks, Cylinder and phosphor numbers on Cylinder Blocks. Other information also included the latest errors, including missing phosphors, colour errors, imperforates etc. etc.
This service is still provided each and every month, but many other services have since been added.

Each month items are included from all and any country or subject but naturally tend to be from Great Britain. And now you can get the results of each Auction HERE before the next newsletter is published. Yet another service from the MCC!
Yearly Fairs
We hold a yearly fair at Dunchurch near Rugby These fairs are always extremely popular attracting up to 100 members each time. Officially commencing at 9am, although much activity occurs before this, they are not only attended by members but also well known dealers such as A.G. (Jim) Bond, Arun Stamps (Tony Hender), John Brain and Edmonds & Turner. These fairs not only enable members to meet and socialise, but also to expand their knowledge of Machins – and stamp collecting in general.

Our Own Superb Definitive Catalogue
The MCC QEII Specialised Definitive Catalogue started life as the Alan Wilson catalogue. The MCC was granted permission to continue and expand the presentation of this catalogue, which was at the time the most popular Machin publication available. Since then many developments have taken place which resulted in the two volume book edition published in April 2010. Towards the end of 2014 our catalogue has been updated and published as a loose leaf edition. It is now regarded by many as the essential catalogue to have in your library. The two volume book version covers all definitive issues from 1952 to April 2010 in all their known forms i.e. Single stamps, Booklets, Cylinder/Date Blocks, Coil Issues, Regionals, – even Training stamps, Postage Dues and Publicity material are included! It is published in full colour throughout and at only £39.95 for BOTH (+ p & p) is a real bargain for any QEII definitive collector. The new 2015 edition is published in loose leaf form. It it printed on 300gm card ensuring a long life and, as it is loose leaf, it can be readily updated. A real step forward in Machin catalogues! You can buy your copy of either edition from Sutton Stamps (click here) – the new MCC shop which offers more than just club membership!
